Twende Pamoja, with the 
generous support of Team Kenya, continues to transform the lives of vulnerable girls in Ndhiwa Sub-County, Homa Bay County, through education, mentorship, and community empowerment initiatives.
Many girls in the region face significant challenges, including poverty, gender-based violence, child marriage, teenage pregnancy, and limited access to quality education. These barriers prevent many from completing their education and reaching their full potential.
To address these challenges, Twende Pamoja implements a holistic approach that engages girls, boys, parents, teachers, and community leaders in promoting gender equality and creating safe learning environments. Through partnerships with local schools, the programme provides life skills education, mentorship, psychosocial support, STEM learning opportunities, and inclusive activities that build confidence and leadership among girls.
The initiative currently supports more than 500 girls across partner schools in Ndhiwa, helping them remain in school while equipping them with the knowledge and skills needed to make informed life choices. Football for Empowerment, debating clubs, and other extracurricular activities further encourage teamwork, resilience, and self-confidence.
Since 2008, Team Kenya has 
supported community-driven programmes that have positively impacted more than 60,000 people across western Kenya. Through investments in education, agricultural training, table banking, STEM education, Digital Footprints, and youth empowerment programmes, the partnership continues to promote gender equality, sustainable livelihoods, and stronger communities.
Together, Twende Pamoja and Team Kenya remain committed to ensuring that every girl has the opportunity to learn, thrive, and build a brighter future.
