My story is one of resilience, hope, and possibility – a journey that would not have been possible without the support of Twende Pamoja Organization
I first became part of the Twende Pamoja family in 2015, when I was in Class 7 at Koduogo Primary School. At that time, my future was uncertain. Financial challenges at home made it difficult to imagine completing my education. But Twende Pamoja stepped in – paying my school fees, providing learning materials and basic needs, and, most importantly, surrounding me with mentorship and encouragement. Their support didn’t just keep me in school; it gave me confidence, determination, and the courage to dream.
With this strong foundation, I completed my secondary education at Ojode Pala Secondary School and later joined the University of Eldoret, where I pursued a degree in Education (Biology, Chemistry, and Physical Education). The journey was not always easy, but Twende Pamoja’s consistent encouragement kept me focused.
From Dreams Deferred to Dreams Realized
During my university years, each long holiday became a chance to return home and mentor young girls in my community. Sharing my story with them and walking alongside them gave me joy and a sense of purpose. I wanted them to see, through me, that their dreams were possible too.
Today, I stand at the threshold of a new chapter. I have just completed my degree, awaiting graduation this November, and last month I proudly started my first teaching job at Our Lady of Orore Comprehensive School. Standing in front of my students, I often reflect on my journey. I see myself in them – children with big dreams, who just need someone to believe in them. Being a teacher today is not just a career choice; it is living proof of what support and opportunity can do.
My story is also Twende Pamoja’s story. It shows that when a girl is supported, she doesn’t just rise for herself – she rises for her family, her students, and her entire community. She becomes a role model, a mentor, and a source of hope for others.
I am forever grateful to Twende Pamoja Organization for walking with me, every step of the way. You have not only educated me but empowered me to educate others. Because of you, I can look to the future with hope, confidence, and a heart determined to lift others as I climb.
